A septic tank inspection will tell you if the septic system has been damaged by tree roots or has a major leak. We also check for any cracks in the pipes that could lead to expensive repairs. A properly functioning septic tank is critical to keeping your family healthy and avoiding nasty sewage backups
Around the time of your inspection, you may also need to have your tank pumped if it is near capacity.
What is a septic tank?
Septic systems are made of a septic tank, distribution box, and a leach field. Your septic tank works to digest organic matter and separate floating matter like oil, grease, and solids from wastewater.
When your system is functioning properly the septic tank will discharge liquid to the distribution box to perforated pipes buried in a leach field that then filters the water and releases it into the ground slowly.
Common Symptoms of Septic Tank Problems
- Puddles above your septic system or drain field. If you see wastewater in this area make sure your pets and family stay away.
- Greener grass over the septic system or in centralized over one area of your yard.
- Strong Septic tank odors. If your yard smells of sewage there is likely something wrong with your system.
- Plumbing backups
If you have any symptoms be sure to contact us for an inspection and service as soon as possible to avoid costly repairs and emergency cleanups in the future.
