Real Estate Inspections

Selling a home? Many counties require inspections or cleaning; make sure your septic system is up-to-date. Contact Ball Septic Service.

When selling a home in San Juan or Archuleta County septic tank inspections are required

Since January 1st, 2019, San Juan and Archuleta counties have begun requiring septic system inspections for any transfer of title. Have a trusted and reliable septic business on your team. With no conflict of interest and fully NAWT certified, Ball Septic Services is the way to go for efficient and trustworthy real estate inspections.

San Juan Basin has a 5-step process for real estate septic inspection approval.

  • Download a copy of your existing permit at this link: Existing Permits
  • If the system is properly permitted for the uses currently on-site (as reported by the County Assessor) or appears to be older than 1967, have the system inspected by a third-party NAWT-certified inspector.
  • If the inspection finds that your system is functioning acceptably, use this form to apply for a Transfer of Title Acceptance Document.
  • Once you have applied for an Acceptance Document, pay the $90 administrative fee.
  • It generally takes SJBPH about three business days to review an Application for a Transfer of Title Acceptance Document.

“Very quick to come out and they were done equally quick with the septic pump. Love it when a company is mindful of the dogs too! A lot more affordable than we expected.”

This is my second septic service with Ball. Steve came out and did some quick digging and revealed the caps and went right to work. Steve gave me some advice on modifications that could be made that would make servicing the septic system easier and save me money in the future. Steve was kind and courteous.
